Recently, LMS conducted a readiness assessment in mathematics, English language arts (ELA), and science to ensure our students are well-prepared for the upcoming state assessments in the spring. This comprehensive assessment allows us to identify specific areas where students may benefit from targeted intervention, ensuring they have the support needed to excel in their studies.

For this to be a successful or impactful initiative for our students, we want to emphasize the importance of good student attendance and positive participation in this process, as these factors play a crucial role in gauging their readiness and ensuring the effectiveness of the intervention strategies. Additionally, having the proper resources, including charged Chromebooks and earbuds, is essential, as these tools contribute to a conducive learning experience.

Your continued support in promoting these factors will greatly contribute to the success of our students as they approach the state assessments with confidence and proficiency.

Final Forms Weekly Update

Our Final Forms submissions have achieved an impressive completion rate of 93%, and we're pleased to announce that we've progressed to 94%. This leaves us with only 6% of parent submissions left to go, which is equivalent to 38 families.

We maintain confidence that these numbers will continue to increase. Whether you're yet to submit your Final Forms or have already provided your information, your support is crucial to maintaining our progress. For those who have already joined, we invite you to help us spread the word and extend the invitation to others.

The Kid to Know from the SRO - Reflection

I'm Officer Langham, the Student Resource Officer. Working with the middle school has been awesome, and the Kid to Know from the SRO has really shaped our school's positive vibe. It's been a cool way to shout out or showcase students for doing amazing stuff and being themselves.

I've had the awesome job of giving props to the awesome kids. They're the ones rocking good behavior, acing school, and embracing the whole "coffee bean" vibe. These kids spread good vibes all around our school.

Seeing the impact of the Kid to Know program is super inspiring for me. It's not just about achievements; it's creating a mindset where kindness, resilience, and being awesome are the cool things to do. This journey has not only made the recognized students' lives better but also changed how I see things. Small positive actions, man, they add up and make our school community way cooler.

Big thanks to the standout kids making a difference. You guys are what makes our school and my job awesome. Let's keep riding this journey, celebrating the good vibes from the Kid to Know program, and looking forward to more moments of giving props to our incredible students.

Attendance Matters - Stay in the Game

Transportation

A gentle reminder to all: our commitment to prioritizing the safety and security of your child and our entire community remains steadfast. We extend our sincere appreciation for your collaboration in creating a secure and efficient transportation experience for all stakeholders.

Let's revisit a few procedural reminders designed to enhance safety during your child's transit:

Dress Appropriately: We recommend ensuring your child is dressed in warm attire, including coats, hats, scarves, and gloves, particularly in inclement weather at bus stops. If your student needs any of these items, please contact the office. Please note that blankets are not allowed on the bus.

Timeliness Matters: It's crucial to ensure your child arrives at the designated bus stop at least five minutes before the scheduled time each day. Punctuality plays a pivotal role in preventing instances of panic, bus pursuit, or inadvertent interactions with traffic. Your cooperation is highly valued in maintaining a safe transportation environment.

8th-grade Scheduling

We are excited to share a new initiative to better prepare our 8th graders for the transition to high school. As part of this initiative, our 8th-grade students will have the opportunity to participate in an onsite visit to the high school. During this visit, they will explore various career pathways, engage with high school counselors, and meet with the college career readiness coordinator. To ensure a seamless transition, our dedicated middle school counselor will work in collaboration with high school counselors to visit the middle school and provide essential guidance to students in preparation for the onsite visit.

We understand the significance of involving parents in this process, and to that end, we invite parents and students to attend an evening program at the high school. This program aims to provide detailed information about the school course guide and highlight the college credit plus opportunities available to our students. By actively involving parents, students, and educators in this comprehensive initiative, we aim to create a supportive and informed community that facilitates a successful transition for our 8th graders as they embark on their high school journey.

We look forward to your participation and collaboration in ensuring the success of this initiative, and we believe that together, we can provide our students with the best possible start to their high school experience.

Parent Teacher Conferences - PTC

We are excited to announce the upcoming Winter Parent-Teacher Conferences, scheduled to take place on February 1 from 1:00 pm to 6:30 pm and February 6 from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

The winter conferences are traditionally intended for parents of at-risk students who have received invitations from our teaching staff. However, we want to emphasize that all parents are welcome to attend. However, we kindly ask for your patience during these conferences, as our staff will be working diligently to accommodate everyone in between scheduled appointments.

If you have any specific concerns or topics you would like to discuss during the conferences, please communicate them beforehand. We want to ensure that your time with our teachers is productive and addresses any questions or thoughts you may have.
