Dear LHS Families,
It is exam week. The schedule is listed below. Please check your student's grades with them. Students are expected to stay for make-up time if students are behind on any work. Second-quarter grades determine eligibility, while first-semester marks determine credits being earned toward graduation.
The counselors will be asking students for information regarding driver's licenses; CPR certifications done for lifeguarding, babysitting or other Red Cross approved; and other certifications they may have received for training at their workplace. These items can assist students in showing their readiness and can qualify for the Industry Credential seal.
Here’s to a great week!

This also includes personal devices- iPads, personal laptops, etc. |
Schwartz Driving School has opened a location in London. It is located at 167 West High Street. They have also provided vouchers to the school which gives students FREE classroom instruction. The driver's training is at a reduced rate through the voucher. These vouchers can be picked up from Mr. Rismiller. Families will need to call Schwartz Driving School at 614-882-4235 to enroll. |
Student safety is our highest priority. As colder weather approaches, we want to remind families and students of an important transportation safety guideline: blankets are not permitted on school buses.
While we understand the desire to stay warm during morning and afternoon routes, blankets can create several safety concerns, including:
-Tripping or entanglement hazards when entering, exiting, or moving on the bus -Increased risk during emergency evacuations, when every second counts -Difficulty for drivers to clearly see students and ensure safe behavior
To help keep all riders safe, we ask that students dress warmly in coats, hats, and gloves instead of bringing blankets.
Our drivers and staff are committed to maintaining a safe environment on every route, and we appreciate your partnership in following transportation safety guidelines. If you have questions about this expectation, please contact the Transportation Department.
Thank you for helping us keep our buses safe for all students.
Sincerely,
London City Schools Transportation Department 740-852-5700 ext. 5010 transportation.lcs@london.k12.oh.us

London City Schools places a strong emphasis on regular attendance, as absences can quietly accumulate over time. Missing just two days per month throughout a nine month school year can lead to chronic absenteeism. We remind all students to “Stay in the Game” and remember that both excused and unexcused absences add up. |
Keeping our school community safe is a top priority at London City Schools. Together, we can ensure our buildings remain secure and welcoming for everyone. Please remember to report any concerns right away if you see something, say something. During arrival and dismissal, use designated areas and follow all traffic rules to keep everyone moving safely. Stay mindful of digital safety by monitoring online activity and promoting responsible use. Thank you for partnering with us to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all. |
As we move into the colder months, we want to remind families of a few important health and wellness tips to help keep students comfortable and prepared throughout the school day. With temperatures dropping, please be sure your child comes to school dressed for the weather. Warm jackets, hats, and gloves are essential for both morning bus stops and outdoor recess. Students go outside as long as conditions are safe, and having appropriate cold-weather clothing helps them stay warm, healthy, and able to enjoy their time outdoors.
We also encourage families to send a complete change of clothing in their child’s backpack. Even older students experience unexpected spills, messy lunches, and occasional wipeouts at recess. Having an extra outfit available at school allows students to return to learning quickly without requiring parents to interrupt their day to bring in clothing.
There are many illnesses circulating right now, and we appreciate families continuing to monitor their child’s health. If you have any questions about whether your student should attend school or need guidance on symptoms, please reach out to the building nurse. Thank you for your help in keeping our school community healthy, warm, and ready to learn this winter season.
