Principal Message

Dear High School Student Families,

Our Red Raider Football team is still playing strong. Next up will be Bellbrook. This game will be at Springfield. Our LHS Fall Play will be performing Antigone. Production dates for the show are November 21, November 23 and November 24.

Interims were published on Friday. Please look at the print version of the interim as it has school fees that are currently owed.

Morning drop off is looking better each morning. Thank you to all who have a role in this. Students that are driving and parking at the school are expected to have a parking pass. These are available for $5 in the main office. This assists us with knowing what vehicles are supposed to be at the school during school hours.

School fees are listed on the students' report cards. Some of these fees have accumulated since elementary school or include pay-to-participate. These can be paid online through PaySchools (there is a convenience fee) or checks can be sent to London High School. (These are printed on the grade cards that are mailed home and viewable by selecting "View Paper Report Card.") The amount posted is the accumulated amount from the last time fees have been paid.

Go Red Raiders!

-Ryan Rismiller

Cell Phone policy

Reminder to students and families. Cell phones are to be out of sight when students are in hallways and classrooms. This includes airpods. Students will have access to their devices during their lunch.

Driver's Education

Schwartz Driving School has opened a location in London. It is located at 167 West High Street. They have also provided vouchers to the school which gives students FREE classroom instruction. The driver's training is at a reduced rate through the voucher. These vouchers can be picked up from Mr. Rismiller. Families will need to call Schwartz Driving School at 614-882-4235 to enroll.

Attendance

Understanding the significance of sleep in a child's growth, development, academic performance, behavior, mood, and maintaining a healthy body weight is crucial. To support your child in achieving a more peaceful and secure sleep, parents can consider these recommendations:

  • Establish consistent sleep routines.

  • Create a tranquil sleep environment by removing noise and distractions, such as screens, from the sleeping area.

  • Avoid allowing your child to consume caffeine and steer clear of sugary drinks.

Additionally, a structured routine, like reading a set number of books as part of your child's nightly regimen, can facilitate easier bedtime transitions.

Healthcare

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we enter the colder months, I’d like to remind everyone of a few essentials to help keep our students comfortable, safe, and prepared for any unexpected situations.

1. Change of Clothes for Elementary Students: For our younger students, please consider sending a spare set of clothes in their backpacks. Accidents, spills, or minor mishaps can happen at any time, and having a change of clothes ready can make their day much easier.

2. Weather-Appropriate Outerwear: As temperatures drop, please send students with warm coats, hats, and gloves to ensure they stay cozy during recess and other outdoor activities. Layers are also a good idea, as they allow students to adjust to indoor and outdoor temperatures more comfortably.

3. Handwashing: With cold and flu season here, please encourage your child to wash their hands frequently, especially before meals and after recess. Keeping hands clean is one of the best ways to prevent the spread of germs and keep everyone healthy!

Thank you for helping us ensure all students are prepared for a healthy and happy November

To keep our students safe, please remember to use only the designated safety areas for student drop-off. Following these guidelines ensures a secure and efficient arrival for everyone:

Drop-Off in Designated Safety Areas Only: For your child’s safety, please use the designated safety areas marked for drop-off. Avoid dropping students off in non-designated areas, as this creates potential hazards.

Stay Alert and Move Forward: Keep your focus on the road and other students as you move through the designated safety area. After dropping off your child, please pull forward promptly to allow others to use the space safely.

Follow Staff Directions: Our staff members are there to guide traffic and ensure safety. Please follow their instructions at all times.

Enhancements to Safer Ohio School tip line include new options for reporting school safety concerns

In addition to calling and texting the state's free Safer Ohio School Tip Line (1-844-SAFEROH), recent changes now enable Ohioans to report school safety information using a new smartphone app and online web form to quickly report concerns. The tip line is staffed by crisis response professionals who are trained to help individuals contemplating self-harm.
