| Dear LHS Families,
We hope all are able to enjoy this three-day weekend. Within this update is the last opportunity for students to sign up for the Argonaut Expedition, information regarding the London Scholarship for seniors, and a senior checklist for seniors regarding photos and the yearbook. We are a week away from the Junior ACT, and two weeks away from the Spring Musical, The Drowsy Chaperone.
Scheduling meetings are now done. The next step will be entering requests. Our events calendar will be making a transition as we start to enter the OHSAA winter tournaments. Dates will be shared as they are known. Several dates are listed as TBD as teams need to win to advance. Have a great week! Ryan Rismiller Principal, London High School

We are excited to announce the 2026 Argonaut Expedition!
From June 21 to June 27, 2026, the Argonauts will return to the Houston area for an immersive, high-impact expedition that brings aeronautics, data analysis, coding, and design thinking to life. With access to world-class universities, NASA, and a thriving aeronautics industry, Houston provides the perfect launchpad for this unforgettable learning experience.
From the very first expedition planning meetings, students will engage in authentic data collection, using real tools and methodologies to guide their thinking and decision-making. Throughout the expedition, the Argonauts will interact directly with industry professionals, explore careers in aeronautics, and investigate the various areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics that drive this dynamic field.
A defining feature of the 2026 Argonaut Expedition is its strong emphasis on mathematics and data collection. Students will collect, analyze, and interpret data to solve complex, real-world problems, building algebraic thinking and advanced data analysis skills. Participants will determine what data to capture, how to analyze it, and how to apply insights to drive effective solutions—highlighting the essential role of design thinking and problem-solving in successful system models.
Students will visit local facilities, participate in multiple hands-on, inquiry-driven experiences, and culminate their learning by presenting their findings to industry partners—with products designed to be shared with districts and school boards upon their return to school next year. Expedition Location Houston, Texas
Home to NASA, leading universities, and aeronautics industry innovators What Students Will Experience Real-world data collection, analysis, and interpretation Coding and design thinking applied to aeronautics challenges Hands-on activities and site visits Direct interaction with industry professionals

Even as students mature and gain greater independence, families remain pivotal in ensuring continued access to educational opportunities and in understanding the critical role regular attendance plays in academic success and future career readiness. Whether absences are excused or unexcused, all missed instructional time adds up and can impact student learning. Families can also serve as strong advocates for additional resources and support to help students stay engaged and on track, particularly when consistent in-person attendance presents challenges.

As winter weather brings snow and colder temperatures, please remind students to practice snow safety. Dress appropriately for the weather, including warm coats, hats, gloves, and sturdy footwear. Walk carefully on icy or snow-covered surfaces to prevent slips and falls, and avoid throwing snow or ice, as it can cause serious injuries. Staying aware of surroundings and following school safety guidelines helps keep everyone safe and healthy during snowy conditions. |
Hello Families, With the very cold weather we are experiencing, please make sure your students are dressed appropriately each day (coat, hat, gloves, etc.). If you are unsure whether your student should stay home, please feel free to call the nurse in your student’s building, we are happy to help.
Also, if your phone number has changed, please call the office or update it in Final Forms so we can update our records. In case of an emergency, it is very important that we are able to reach you.
Lastly, please remember to send an extra set of clothing to keep in your student’s locker or bookbag. Accidents, spills, and illness can happen, and having extra clothes available helps your student return to class quickly without missing valuable instructional time. 🏊♂️ Swimming Makes Waves at CBC & Beyond
The swim team turned in one of its strongest performances of the season at the Central Buckeye Conference Swim Meet on January 31, finishing fourth overall against tough competition. The Red Raiders captured first place in the 400-yard freestyle relay and added a runner-up finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Griffin Lotton led the way with conference titles in both the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle, while Caelan Mars placed second in the 500 and third in the 200 freestyle. London continued its momentum on February 4 in a home meet against Indian Lake and Ben Logan, finishing second overall. Lotton again swept the 200 and 500 freestyle events, while Gabe Scholl claimed victories in the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke. Mars added a second-place finish in the 200 freestyle and third in the 500, helping secure another strong team showing.
This week also brought major recognition as Central Buckeye Conference Honors were awarded. Griffin Lotton was named CBC Swimmer of the Year (2nd year in a row) and earned First Team All-CBC honors in both of his winning events. Caelan Mars secured Second Team All-CBC honors in the 500 freestyle and Third Team honors in the 200 freestyle. The 400 freestyle relay team, consisting of Lotton, Mars, Gabe Scholl, and James Thompson, earned First Team All-CBC recognition as well. 🎳 Bowling Rolls to Big Wins On the bowling lanes, both teams found success during a busy week at home. The boys fell to Northwestern 2777–2317 on February 2 but bounced back with an impressive 2343–2013 victory over Madison Plains on February 6. The girls split their week as well, defeating Northwestern 2300–1987 before dominating Madison Plains 2111–1592. The strong finishes provided momentum as postseason play approaches. 🏀 Girls Basketball Battles Through Overtime & Dominates
The girls' basketball team also showed resilience in a pair of strong performances. London battled Urbana into overtime on February 4 before pulling away for a 53–43 win. The Lady Raiders followed that effort with a commanding 70–9 victory over Tecumseh on February 7. Cameron Markley scored 12 points to lead the way, while Addison Sims added 11 and Addison Lambert chipped in nine in a balanced team effort. An impressive all-around team effort!
