Even as students mature and gain greater independence, families remain pivotal in ensuring continued access to educational opportunities and in understanding the critical role regular attendance plays in academic success and future career readiness. Whether absences are excused or unexcused, all missed instructional time adds up and can impact student learning. Families can also serve as strong advocates for additional resources and support to help students stay engaged and on track, particularly when consistent in-person attendance presents challenges.

Safety

As winter weather brings snow and colder temperatures, please remind students to practice snow safety. Dress appropriately for the weather, including warm coats, hats, gloves, and sturdy footwear. Walk carefully on icy or snow-covered surfaces to prevent slips and falls, and avoid throwing snow or ice, as it can cause serious injuries. Staying aware of surroundings and following school safety guidelines helps keep everyone safe and healthy during snowy conditions.

Nurse news

Hello Families,

With the very cold weather we are experiencing, please make sure your students are dressed appropriately each day (coat, hat, gloves, etc.).

If you are unsure whether your student should stay home, please feel free to call the nurse in your student’s building, we are happy to help.

Also, if your phone number has changed, please call the office or update it in Final Forms so we can update our records. In case of an emergency, it is very important that we are able to reach you.

Lastly, please remember to send an extra set of clothing to keep in your student’s locker or bookbag. Accidents, spills, and illness can happen, and having extra clothes available helps your student return to class quickly without missing valuable instructional time.

Thank you for your support,

🏀 Varsity Boys Basketball
The boys faced a challenging slate of opponents this week. London fell on the road to Circleville High School 72–40 on February 9 and later dropped a 63–50 contest at Urbana High School on February 13. The Raiders closed out the week in a nail-biter at home, falling just short against North Union High School 54–51.

Despite the results, the Raiders continued to compete hard down the stretch.

🎳 Girls Bowling
The Lady Bowlers earned a strong home victory over Fairbanks High School, defeating the Panthers 1958–1450 on February 9. The team delivered a balanced performance to secure the win.

🎳 Boys Bowling
The boys matched that success at home, knocking off Fairbanks High School 2050–1746. The Raiders put together a solid team effort to sweep the bowling matchups for the week.

🤼 Boys Wrestling
Competing on the road at Jonathan Alder High School, the Raiders battled hard in a tough dual meet. Taven Huff and Brody Howard each secured individual victories, highlighting the team’s determined effort.

🤼‍♀️ Girls Wrestling
At Teays Valley, the Lady Raiders placed 10th overall in tournament competition. Sophomore Loraine Durham earned a strong 2nd-place finish on the podium. Hannah Howard, Brylee Huff, and Shayla Lowe narrowly missed podium spots but finished an impressive 5th in their respective weight classes.

🏊‍♂️ Swimming – OHSAA Sectionals
