break

As we welcome 2025, we are filled with excitement and optimism for the opportunities that lie ahead. The second half of the school year is a chance for new beginnings, continued growth, and reaching goals that have been set.

To our students: your dedication, curiosity, and perseverance have been inspiring. The journey of learning is not always easy, but each step brings you closer to your potential. Believe in yourselves, support one another, and never hesitate to seek help when needed.

To our families: thank you for being such an integral part of our community. Your encouragement and involvement make all the difference in your children’s success. We are grateful for your partnership and look forward to working together to ensure the best for every student.

Let’s make this a year of accomplishment, discovery, and connection. Whether in the classroom, on the field, or in our community, we are proud to have you as part of the London High School family.

Here’s to a bright, rewarding, and joyful second half of the year. Together, we can achieve great things!

Go Red Raiders!

Are you interested in taking college classes during the 2025-26 school year?  If so, plan to attend one of two important College Credit Plus Informational Meetings and Counseling Sessions for students and families in January.  The first will be held on Thursday, January 9th at 6:00 p.m. in the LHS Auditorium and the second will be on Wednesday, January 15th in the LMS Cafeteria.  The first meeting will focus more on CCP for high school students, with the second meeting talking more in depth about CCP for students in 7th and 8th grades.  There will be representatives from Clark State College, The Ohio State University and Columbus State Community College at both events. Families only need to attend one of the meetings and can choose to attend either.

If you have questions, email Mrs. Dennis at betsy.dennis@london.k12.oh.us.

Cell Phone policy

Reminder to students and families. Cell phones are to be out of sight when students are in hallways and classrooms. This includes airpods. Students will have access to their devices during their lunch.

Driver's Education

Schwartz Driving School has opened a location in London. It is located at 167 West High Street. They have also provided vouchers to the school which gives students FREE classroom instruction. The driver's training is at a reduced rate through the voucher. These vouchers can be picked up from Mr. Rismiller. Families will need to call Schwartz Driving School at 614-882-4235 to enroll.

Attendance

Students in London City Schools who have never been chronically absent are:

- 6.7 times more likely to read on grade level by the end of third grade
- 9 times more likely to graduate from high school on time and go on to college and career

Let's prioritize consistent attendance to ensure the success of our students.

Winter Transportation Safety Update

As winter weather approaches, London City Schools reminds families to prioritize safety when traveling to and from school. Snow, ice, and reduced visibility can make roads more hazardous, so please allow extra time for travel and remind students to stay alert when boarding or exiting buses.

To ensure smooth and timely transportation, it’s important that students are ready and waiting at their designated bus stops when the bus arrives. Students should not remain indoors as this can delay the route and disrupt schedules for others. Bus drivers will take extra precautions to ensure everyone arrives safely, and families are encouraged to dress children warmly for potential delays.

If weather conditions impact school schedules, updates will be communicated via our website, social media, and local news outlets.

Together, we can keep our students safe and on schedule this winter!

Healthcare

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we enter the colder months, I’d like to remind everyone of a few essentials to help keep our students comfortable, safe, and prepared for any unexpected situations.

1. Change of Clothes for Elementary Students: For our younger students, please consider sending a spare set of clothes in their backpacks. Accidents, spills, or minor mishaps can happen at any time, and having a change of clothes ready can make their day much easier.

2. Weather-Appropriate Outerwear: As temperatures drop, please send students with warm coats, hats, and gloves to ensure they stay cozy during recess and other outdoor activities. Layers are also a good idea, as they allow students to adjust to indoor and outdoor temperatures more comfortably.

3. Handwashing: With cold and flu season here, please encourage your child to wash their hands frequently, especially before meals and after recess. Keeping hands clean is one of the best ways to prevent the spread of germs and keep everyone healthy!

Thank you for helping us ensure all students are prepared for a healthy and happy November

Conflict is a natural part of growing up, and you can help your child handle it constructively. Encourage them to stay calm, listen to others’ perspectives, and work together to find solutions. Model respectful conflict resolution and remind them to seek help from a trusted adult if needed. With your support, students can develop positive relationship skills and resilience.
