Principal Message

Dear LHS Families,

It is the last week of the quarter, and then we have Spring Break. Eligibility for the fourth quarter is based on the grades earned from the third quarter. Your student's second-semester average and the ability to earn credit is based on an average of third and fourth quarters.

Congratulations to all of our winter sports teams and individuals for their outstanding seasons. Spring sports are starting up with practices and events are soon to follow.

Please remember to move your clocks forward. We have an assembly schedule on Friday. Spring Break starts March 16.

Scheduling meetings are done. The next step will be entering requests. Studens are asked to turn in their requests as displayed on the events calendar.

Have a great week!

Transportation

Bus Safety Reminder

Student safety is our top priority at London City Schools. We ask all drivers to please slow down, stay alert, and follow all school bus safety laws.

Please remember:

-Slow down and be alert when you see a school bus.
-Never pass a bus when its red lights are flashing, and the stop arm is extended.
-Watch carefully for children who may be crossing the road.
-Allow extra time in the mornings and afternoons during peak bus hours.

Keeping our students safe is a shared responsibility. Thank you for doing your part.

Sincerely,
London City Schools Transportation Department

As the school year continues, we want to emphasize the importance of punctuality in making the most of every learning opportunity. Arriving on time helps maximize valuable instructional time and supports the development of responsibility and positive habits in our students.

Please remember that both excused and unexcused absences add up over time, and tardies also contribute to lost instructional time. Even a few minutes late can cause students to miss important directions and learning activities at the start of the day.

We appreciate your partnership in reinforcing the importance of being on time and attending school regularly. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your child’s school office.

Safety

Student vaping poses serious concerns for both health and safety and can also affect academic success. Research shows that students who use e-cigarettes are more likely to miss assignments, skip classes, and report lower GPAs compared to students who do not use tobacco products. Addressing vaping is important not only for protecting student health, but also for maintaining a safe, focused learning environment where all students can succeed.

We encourage families to talk with their students about the dangers of vaping and the importance of making healthy choices. Open conversations at home can help students better understand the risks and reinforce the message that their health and safety matter.

Nurse news

Hello Families,

We would like to remind all families to please review and update your contact information, especially your phone numbers. It is extremely important that we have working and current phone numbers on file for parents and emergency contacts.

If your child becomes ill, is injured, or there is a health concern during the school day, we must be able to reach you quickly. Incorrect or disconnected numbers can delay care and create unnecessary stress for students.

If any of your contact information has changed, please contact the school office as soon as possible to ensure our records are accurate.

Thank you for your prompt attention and for helping us keep your child safe and supported at school.

Thank you for your support,
