Principal Message

Dear LHS Families,

It's Spring Break! As we enter this week, we move into the spring sports season. Please refer to social media pages for the most up-to-date information on spring sports schedules and times due to any weather events.

In this week's update, we will start sharing summer camp information as we receive details. These are opportunities to help students discover their passions.

We hope everyone has a great break!

Transportation

Bus Safety Reminder

Student safety is our top priority at London City Schools. We ask all drivers to please slow down, stay alert, and follow all school bus safety laws.

Please remember:

-Slow down and be alert when you see a school bus.
-Never pass a bus when its red lights are flashing, and the stop arm is extended.
-Watch carefully for children who may be crossing the road.
-Allow extra time in the mornings and afternoons during peak bus hours.

Keeping our students safe is a shared responsibility. Thank you for doing your part.

Sincerely,
London City Schools Transportation Department

Whenever possible, families should schedule doctor, dentist, and other appointments outside of school hours. If a student must miss school for an appointment, they should return to school for part of the day whenever possible. Families are also encouraged to plan vacations during scheduled school breaks and holidays to avoid missing valuable instructional time. Please remember that both excused and unexcused absences are added together and count toward a student’s total days missed from school.

Safety

For everyone’s safety, students must never play with or experiment with fire, whether at home or anywhere else. Fire is extremely dangerous and should only be used with adult supervision and permission.

Parents and guardians, please talk with your student about the dangers of fire and the importance of following fire safety rules. We also encourage families to store matches, lighters, and other fire-related items safely out of reach of children.

Practicing proper fire safety helps prevent accidents and protects our homes, schools, and community. Thank you for helping keep everyone safe.

Nurse news

Hello Families,

We would like to remind all families to please review and update your contact information, especially your phone numbers. It is extremely important that we have working and current phone numbers on file for parents and emergency contacts.

If your child becomes ill, is injured, or there is a health concern during the school day, we must be able to reach you quickly. Incorrect or disconnected numbers can delay care and create unnecessary stress for students.

If any of your contact information has changed, please contact the school office as soon as possible to ensure our records are accurate.

Thank you for your prompt attention and for helping us keep your child safe and supported at school.

Thank you for your support,

🤼‍♀️ Girls Wrestling
Hannah Howard earned a spot to represent the Lady Wrestling Raiders at the Central District wrestling tournament. Hannah wrestled well and represented herself and Raider Nation with pride! Congratulations to Hannah and all of the girls wrestling team on their historic first season as a varsity sport!

🏃 Indoor Track
The London Indoor Track team competed at the OATCCC D2 Indoor Track meet in Geneva, Ohio, over the weekend. Cameron Carn led the way, placing 4th overall in the 800-meter run. The boys' relay team placed 6th in 4x400 meter relay. Blake Reay also competed well in the boys' long jump competition, while Lily Lohrer competed in the girls 60 meter hurdles. Another great showing for our London track athletes!

🎮 E-Sports: Super Smash Bros
The London Super Smash Bros team competed very well in the Ohio E-Sports State tournament. The boys beat a strong Dublin team in the quarterfinal match before losing a tough match in the semifinals to three-time defending state champions, Sylvania Northview.
