Dear LHS Families,
State testing continues this week with the Biology test on Tuesday. This is the last special schedule for testing. Students testing will report at normal time. Students not testing will have a three hour delay on Tuesday. Buses will run at their normally scheduled time. The bell schedule for testing is listed below in this update. Besides the Biology test, individual updates are being sent for make-up sessions. Students need to complete their state test, as these can impact graduation.
Additional information in this update includes, a link to Drive to Succeed (opportunity for financial assistance with driving.) As a reminder, check the printable version of your report card for school fee information. These can be paid at the school or through PaySchools.
Please refer to social media pages for the most up-to-date information on spring sports schedules and times due to any weather events.
If your student is in Algebra 1, American Government, American History, Biology, English 2, or Geometry, you should receive an email regarding specifics on the test date and the test room. You should have an email if your student is in any of these courses. If you are not receiving emails, please check your spam or review your FinalForms to make sure your email is correct.
We hope everyone has a great break!
Ryan Rismiller Principal, London High School Go Red Raiders!

Bus Safety Reminder
This is a reminder of how important it is for students to ride their assigned bus, get off at the correct stop, and follow safe practices at bus stops.
When students do not follow their assigned transportation plan, it can create confusion and potential safety concerns. Please help us by reminding your child to wait in a safe location, stay back from the road, and follow driver directions at all times.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our students safe.
Sincerely, London City Schools Transportation Department

Attendance is a shared responsibility at London City Schools, supported by a diverse team that includes school staff, district leaders, students, families, community members, business partners, and statewide organizations such as the Department, along with faith and civic leaders. Both excused and unexcused absences add up, making it even more important that each of us plays an active role in promoting consistent attendance within our schools. Together, we help ensure students succeed academically and are prepared for life beyond the classroom.
|
Children are especially at risk near roadways without proper supervision, so it’s essential to reinforce key safety habits. To help keep them safe, teach the following road safety tips:
Always look right, then left, then right again before crossing, and only cross while holding an adult’s or older child’s hand. Never run near or into the street.
Learn and follow traffic signs and signals at all times.

Hello Families,
If you have a child who will be in 7th or 12th grade next year (2026-2027 school year), you may want to make sure they have the required immunizations. For 7th, it is a Tdap and the first of two meningococcals, and for 12th graders, it is the second meningococcal. Now is a good time to schedule an appointment or get your exemption updated if needed. Having this done will prevent your child from being excluded from school.
Please make sure we are updated with new phone numbers and having an extra set of clothes and dressing appropriately for this ever changing Ohio weather.
Thank you for your support,

📰 Red Raider Weekly Recap (April 6–April 10)
Created by: Jacey Peters and Brylee Huff
Another busy week for London athletics featured strong performances on the courts, track, and diamond, highlighted by dominant tennis wins and standout efforts at the Cedarville Invitational.
🎾 Tennis
London’s tennis team put together an impressive undefeated week, showcasing consistency and control in every match. The Red Raiders opened with a commanding 5-0 sweep over West Jefferson, followed by another shutout victory against Northwestern, 3-0. They capped the week with a solid 4-1 win over New Hope Christian, continuing their strong early-season momentum.
⚾ Baseball
The baseball squad experienced a mix of results throughout the week. London fell to Jonathan Alder on the road, 13-7, and again later in the week at home, 8-0. However, the team bounced back in a big way on Friday with a dominant 6-0 shutout victory over North Union, showing resilience and growth as the week progressed.
🥎 Softball
It was a tough stretch for the softball team despite some exciting moments. The Red Raiders dropped close contests to Jonathan Alder (9-8 and 10-3) and North Union (9-8). One of the week’s highlights came in the North Union game when Lyllian Ball delivered a clutch home run late to extend the game, demonstrating determination and fight from the squad.
🏃 Track & Field
London’s track and field teams delivered standout performances across two meets. At Teays Valley, Terrell Butts captured first place in the 110-meter hurdles, while the boys’ 4x100 relay team also took first. Ashley Nolan (800m) and Rachel Jackman (1600m) each earned second-place finishes, and the girls’ 4x200 relay team brought home a victory.
The momentum continued at the Cedarville Invitational with several top finishes. Cameron Carn claimed first in the 800-meter run, while Stevie Gravely placed second in the 100-meter dash. The boys dominated relay events, winning both the 4x100 and 4x800 relays. Blake Reay soared to first in the long jump, and Lily Lohrer had an outstanding day, winning both the 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles. The girls’ 4x100 relay team also secured a first-place finish, capping off an excellent showing for the program.
🏈 Girls Flag Football The girls' flag football team continued its inaugural campaign with a close battle against Whitehall Yearling. They lost 19-18, but left it all out on the field! The girls will finish up a strong first regular season on Sunday, 4/19, playing both Tree of Life and Columbus School for Girls.
