Principal Message

Dear LHS Families,

As we enter this week, the calendar flips to May. Interims were released on Friday. Signing Day to celebrate our Class of 2026 is right around the corner.

A shout out to all students and families with assisting students in making sure they were present for testing. We are looking forward to the results and hoping for great news for all of our students.

As a reminder, please review the printable version of your students report card. It has listed fees that are owed. Some of these fees have accumulated.

Additional information in this update includes, a link to Drive to Succeed (opportunity for financial assistance with driving.) As a reminder, check the printable version of your report card for school fee information. These can be paid at the school or through PaySchools.

Please refer to social media pages for the most up-to-date information on spring sports schedules and times due to any weather events.

We hope everyone has a great week!

Transportation

Bus Safety Reminder

This is a reminder of how important it is for students to ride their assigned bus, get off at the correct stop, and follow safe practices at bus stops.

When students do not follow their assigned transportation plan, it can create confusion and potential safety concerns. Please help us by reminding your child to wait in a safe location, stay back from the road, and follow driver directions at all times.

Thank you for your partnership in keeping our students safe.

Sincerely,

Regular attendance and active participation set students up for success in school and beyond, and every day in class counts. Both excused and unexcused absences can add up over time. By focusing on each student’s overall well-being through a multi-tiered system of support, we can remove barriers, strengthen engagement, enhance learning experiences, and provide meaningful mental health support. Parents are valued partners in this work, helping to create a positive, supportive environment that encourages consistent attendance.

Safety

The long-term impact of vape vapor on children is not yet fully understood, especially as their bodies and brains are still developing. Health experts are concerned that the chemicals in vapes may affect the nervous system, including the brain and lungs, over time. Because these effects can take years to fully understand, it’s important to have open conversations with your student about potential risks and to encourage healthy choices that support their well-being now and in the future.

Nurse news

Hello Families,

If you have a child who will be in 7th or 12th grade next year (2026-2027 school year), you may want to make sure they have the required immunizations. For 7th, it is a Tdap and the first of two meningococcals, and for 12th graders, it is the second meningococcal. Now is a good time to schedule an appointment or get your exemption updated if needed. Having this done will prevent your child from being excluded from school.

Please make sure we are updated with new phone numbers and having an extra set of clothes and dressing appropriately for this ever changing Ohio weather.

Thank you for your support,

Red Raiders Surge: Dominant Wins and a Thrilling Overtime Comeback Highlight the Week🏟️

Baseball
London baseball experienced a tale of two starts this week, opening with a tough 2-0 loss to Tecumseh at home before completely flipping the script. The Red Raiders responded with authority, dominating Tecumseh 12-1 on the road and carrying that momentum into a shutout 9-0 victory over Indian Lake. They capped off the week with another impressive performance, defeating Westland 10-1 at home. After the early setback, London caught fire, outscoring opponents 31-2 over the final three games and showcasing both explosive offense and lockdown pitching.

🥎 Softball
The softball team continued its offensive tear, delivering a trio of convincing wins throughout the week. London opened with a 14-6 victory over Tecumseh at home, then followed it up with a 13-4 road win against the same opponent. The Red Raiders stayed consistent in their final game of the stretch, taking down Indian Lake 11-4. With 38 runs scored across three games, London’s lineup proved to be relentless, combining power and consistency to overwhelm opposing defenses.

🎾 Tennis
London tennis added another strong performance to its season with a 4-1 win over Kenton Ridge at home. The team displayed depth and control throughout the match, securing victories across multiple courts and continuing to build momentum as the season progresses.

🏈 Girls Flag Football
It was an exciting and memorable week for the girls' flag football team, highlighted by both high scoring and resilience. London opened with a 37-23 win over Tree of Life, showcasing their offensive capabilities. They followed that with a dramatic matchup against Columbus School for Girls, where the Red Raiders mounted a comeback and secured a thrilling 26-20 victory in overtime. The win underscored the team’s determination and ability to rise to the moment in pressure situations.

🔥 Weekly Takeaway
London Athletics put together an impressive all-around week, blending dominant performances with moments of high drama. Baseball rebounded in a big way after an early loss, softball continued its offensive dominance, tennis remained steady, and girls' flag football delivered the most electrifying moment with an overtime comeback victory.
