Dear LHS Families,
We are officially in May. Our focus switches from testing to celebrations and exams. Signing Day to celebrate our Class of 2026 is this week. We will also be celebrating our students with RESPYs and Raider Way Day. Spring sports will be receiving their seeding and assignments for tournament play.
We are in the last home stretch of the year. Please help encourage your student to finish strong. Grades earned from this quarter will impact eligibility, overall GPA, and class rank for the year. Students not passing classes this semester or last will be enrolled into our summer session for credit recovery.
A shout out to all students and families with assisting students in making sure they were present for testing. We are looking forward to the results and hoping for great news for all of our students.
As a reminder, please review the printable version of your students report card. It has listed fees that are owed. Some of these fees have accumulated.
Additional information in this update includes, a link to Drive to Succeed (opportunity for financial assistance with driving.) As a reminder, check the printable version of your report card for school fee information. These can be paid at the school or through PaySchools.
Please refer to social media pages for the most up-to-date information on spring sports schedules and times due to any weather events.
We hope everyone has a great week!
Ryan Rismiller Principal, London High School Go Red Raiders!

Bus Safety Reminder
This is a reminder of how important it is for students to ride their assigned bus, get off at the correct stop, and follow safe practices at bus stops.
When students do not follow their assigned transportation plan, it can create confusion and potential safety concerns. Please help us by reminding your child to wait in a safe location, stay back from the road, and follow driver directions at all times.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our students safe.
Sincerely, London City Schools Transportation Department

Regular attendance and active participation set students up for success in school and beyond, and every day in class counts. Both excused and unexcused absences can add up over time. By focusing on each student’s overall well-being through a multi-tiered system of support, we can remove barriers, strengthen engagement, enhance learning experiences, and provide meaningful mental health support. Parents are valued partners in this work, helping to create a positive, supportive environment that encourages consistent attendance.

The long-term impact of vape vapor on children is not yet fully understood, especially as their bodies and brains are still developing. Health experts are concerned that the chemicals in vapes may affect the nervous system, including the brain and lungs, over time. Because these effects can take years to fully understand, it’s important to have open conversations with your student about potential risks and to encourage healthy choices that support their well-being now and in the future.

Hello Families,
If you have a child who will be in 7th or 12th grade next year (2026-2027 school year), you may want to make sure they have the required immunizations. For 7th, it is a Tdap and the first of two meningococcals, and for 12th graders, it is the second meningococcal. Now is a good time to schedule an appointment or get your exemption updated if needed. Having this done will prevent your child from being excluded from school.
Please make sure we are updated with new phone numbers and having an extra set of clothes and dressing appropriately for this ever changing Ohio weather.
Thank you for your support,
