Good afternoon families!

We have one more State Test. Up this week is Biology. Thank you to all for bringing your students in for testing. This has tremendously assisted us with minimizing the amount of make-up sessions that we need to offer! The bell schedule for April 29 is listed below. An initial email was sent during Spring Break. An updated email was sent for the April 29 test dates on April 23. We also have room information posted in the building. Students who are testing are expected to be at school at the normal start time and report to their testing room. Student Chromebooks must be charged. Updated information regarding the Biology Test will be sent this week. Students who are not testing will follow the bell schedules listed below. Students' testing will follow this schedule after they complete their test. School transportation will only run at the regular time. Tolles students not testing will follow their normal schedule.

URGENT- Last day to pay school fees by check is May 2nd. Notice to all families (especially Senior families,) please check the printed version of the last report cards. School fees are listed. Some fees have been accumulating since elementary school. To access this, go to your ProgressBook page, click Report Card (this was the left side of my computer screen), and click view paper report card (this was on the top of my computer screen.)

Attention to all senior families- Signing Day is May 1. We hope that you are able to join us to celebrate your student's commitment.

Notice to all high school drivers, beware of your surroundings, watch for pedestrians, take your time in school zones, and if assisting with dropping off siblings- watch for children getting in and out of cars.

Employers, colleges, and military will want to know about your attendance and that you are making a significant effort towards your future self. For our seniors, this is your last semester; make it count. Start planning to make sure you have done all of the necessary things to be able to walk in at Graduation in May.

Reminder to students and families. Cell phones are to be out of sight when students are in hallways and classrooms. This includes airpods. Students will have access to their devices during their lunch.

Schwartz Driving School has opened a location in London. It is located at 167 West High Street. They have also provided vouchers to the school which gives students FREE classroom instruction. The driver's training is at a reduced rate through the voucher. These vouchers can be picked up from Mr. Rismiller. Families will need to call Schwartz Driving School at 614-882-4235 to enroll.

Understanding Chronic Absence: Chronic absence serves as an early warning metric. Recognizing students who miss 10% of school at any point in the year proves to be an effective early indicator that these students may be veering off track academically. The significant amount of missed school has repercussions on their learning opportunities and overall well-being. Identifying attendance issues early allows schools to proactively engage, identifying and addressing barriers that hinder students from attending school before absences accumulate and academic setbacks occur.

The 2025–2026 District Transportation Survey is now available!

To request transportation for the upcoming school year, please be sure to update your contact information in Final Forms and complete the transportation survey. This information is essential to help us plan bus routes and ensure safe and efficient transportation for all students.

Deadline to submit: Friday, August 1st, 2025

Additionally, our Transportation staff will be available at each school's open house to share specific pickup and drop-off times and locations for your student(s). We look forward to assisting you there!

Children need healthy meals to thrive and succeed in school. London City Schools is proud to offer nutritious meals to all students each school day. Breakfast is available for $1.75 at London Elementary School (LES) and $2.00 at London Middle School (LMS) and London High School (LHS). Lunch is $3.00 at LES and $3.50 at LMS and LHS.

Your child may qualify for free or reduced-price meals based on your household's income. The reduced prices are $0.30 for breakfast and $0.40 for lunch. To see if your family qualifies, please complete the 2024-2025 Free and Reduced Meal Application included in this packet.

Wrapping Up the School Year: Important Reminders Before Summer 

As we approach the final month of the school year, please take a moment to review these important updates and reminders:

Vaccination Requirements – State of Ohio

Incoming 7th Graders
All students entering 7th grade must have the following before the first day of school:

• Tdap booster (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)

• Meningococcal (MCV4) vaccine

Incoming Seniors
Students entering 12th grade are required to receive their second dose of the meningococcal vaccine.

To avoid exclusion from school, these requirements must be completed before the 10th day of the new school year. Appointments can be made with your child’s pediatrician or the local Health Department.

Exemption forms are available for families who choose not to vaccinate and are also due by the 10th day of school.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 

Take time this month to talk openly and honestly with your child about their emotions and mental well-being. Active listening and showing empathy can go a long way. Together, we can reduce the stigma often associated with mental health and create a culture of support and understanding.

Medication Reminders for the 2025–2026 School Year 

If your child will require medication during school hours next year, please note the following:

• A new physician’s order is required for all medications each school year.

• Do not send medications with your child, except for:

  • Inhalers

  • Diabetic supplies

  • EpiPens

• All other medications must be brought to school by an adult.
