Dear High School Student Families,

Good afternoon and welcome back for the 2024-2025 school year. I know the calendar shows July, but school starts up again in two weeks. We are excited to welcome your students and you back for the new year.

Our weekly update will be up and running again. If you are new to our weekly update, some of the items that are included in the update are a rolling calendar, student and family support tips, celebrations of our students, opportunities for students, scholarships and much more.

We would like to welcome new staff members that are joining our high school team. These new staff members are:

  • Mr. Ryan Freeman, Instrumental Music

  • Mr. Jeremy Hartman, Health/Physical Education/Strength and Conditioning

  • Mr. Kyle Hill, Math

  • Mrs. Alexandra Mays, Math

  • Mrs. Lisa Suarez-Pertuit, Spanish

  • Mr. Eli de Temple, Science

  • Mr. Shane Cahill, Intervention Specialist

  • Mrs. Kendra Binkley, Intervention Specialist

  • Ms. Lindsay Pearson, Intervention Specialist

  • Ms. Stephanie Allen, Counselor

  • Mrs. Eleni Sowers, Counselor

If you want to take advantage of Ohio's Tax-Free Holiday July 30-August 8. There is a link to school supplies and the school handbook to assist with material purchasing.

If you are looking for things for your student to do over the last few weeks, students can be working on their community service hours. Clicking this link will get you information on some local opportunities and the Community Service form. There are other opportunities listed in this update as well. All students are required to have 10 hours of Community Service for graduation. Also to the Class of 2025, there are already scholarships that are available for you to apply to. These scholarships can be found by clicking here or seeing others listed below. Many colleges have virtual tours if you can't visit one in person.

As a reminder, school fees are listed on the students report cards. Some of these fees have accumulated since elementary school or include pay-to-participate. These can be paid online through PaySchools (there is a convenience fee) or checks can be sent to London High School. (These are printed on the grade cards that are mailed home and viewable by selecting "View Paper Report Card.") The amount that is posted is the accumulated amount from the last time fees have been paid.

We hope all have had an incredible summer! We look forward to seeing you soon!

Go Red Raiders!

Enhancements to Safer Ohio School tip line include new options for reporting school safety concerns

In addition to calling and texting the state's free Safer Ohio School Tip Line (1-844-SAFEROH), recent changes now enable Ohioans to report school safety information using a new smartphone app and online web form to quickly report concerns. The tip line is staffed by crisis response professionals who are trained to help individuals contemplating self-harm.

  • Common App- This is used for sending transcripts to colleges.

  • SaferOhio- Free safety resource and anonymous tip line.
