Principal Message

Dear LHS Families,

This week, we hosted grade-level meetings with each class. The goal of these meetings was to share the Raider Way matrix with the expectations for the school year, a review of graduation requirements, information was provided about staying on track and the needs of London Unlimited, and information about attendance requirements. Additional information was provided to seniors about requirements and being on track for graduation. Seniors also have the opportunity to paint their parking spots again this year. Paint day will be September 6. Seniors need to have their plans shared by September 3.

If you are a parent drop-off, please help the flow of the line by either dropping students off by the curb or at the circle by the tennis courts.

If you haven't done so, please take a few moments to log into FinalForms and complete or update your student’s information. This process ensures we have accurate emergency contacts, medical details, and activity participation forms on file for the year. We also ask that you take a few minutes to complete our 2025–2026 Planning Survey, which helps us better understand how we can support your student and family throughout the year. Your input is valued and important to our continuous improvement.

Here’s to a great week!

Welcome Back from the Transportation Department!

Dear London Families,

Welcome to a brand new school year! The Transportation Department is excited to see our students back on board as we begin another safe and successful year of learning.

Here are a few important reminders to help ensure a smooth ride for everyone:

Be Ready – Please have your child at the bus stop 5 minutes early and ready to go.
Be Safe – Remind students to stay back from the curb, wait for the bus to stop completely, and always follow the driver’s instructions including crossing safely.
Know Your Stop – Make sure your child knows their bus number and stop location.
Drive Carefully – Watch for stopped buses and flashing red lights—students may be crossing!

Our drivers and staff are committed to getting students to and from school safely every day. If you have any questions or need assistance with transportation, we’re here to help!

Sincerely,
London City Schools Transportation Department

Stay In the Game

London City Schools places attendance as a top priority, recognizing that absences result in missed learning opportunities that cannot be reclaimed. We all win when our students stay in the game and succeed. When students show up each day, they not only build knowledge but also strengthen friendships, develop confidence, and create a brighter future for themselves.

Safety

Parents, keeping our kids safe online is so important! Here are a few simple talking points to help guide your conversation:

- Remind your child to keep personal info—like their school, address, or phone number—private when they’re online.
- Set some basic rules for internet and social media use, and check in regularly to see what they’re up to online.
- Make sure they know never to meet up in person with anyone they’ve only talked to online.

By having open and ongoing conversations, we can help our kids stay safe while enjoying the online world!
