Principal Message

Dear LHS Families,

It's Homecoming week. This brings us a Parade on Thursday; the game, FFA Pork Loin dinner, and assembly on Friday; and a dance on Saturday. With the interims being released on Friday, there is an image below to access links to schedule Parent Teacher Conferences. Also this week is Farm Science Review. Thursday and Friday this week we have alternate bell schedules, those bell schedules are listed below.

If you are a parent drop-off, please help the flow of the line by either dropping students off by the curb or at the circle by the tennis courts.

If you haven't done so, please take a few moments to log into FinalForms and complete or update your student’s information. This process ensures we have accurate emergency contacts, medical details, and activity participation forms on file for the year. We also ask that you take a few minutes to complete our 2025–2026 Planning Survey, which helps us better understand how we can support your student and family throughout the year. Your input is valued and important to our continuous improvement.

Here’s to a great week!

Riding the Bus with Kindness and Respect

At London City Schools, we believe kindness matters everywhere—including on the bus! A safe and positive bus environment makes the ride better for every student.

We encourage all students to:

  • Respect Others – Use polite words and treat bus drivers, staff, and classmates with kindness.

  • Follow the Driver’s Directions – Listening carefully helps keep everyone safe.

  • Look Out for One Another – Offer a seat, lend a hand to younger riders, and show respect.

  • Keep the Bus Clean – Dispose of trash properly and help take care of the bus.

  • Report Concerns – If you see misconduct, let an adult know right away.

By working together, we can make every bus ride a positive experience for all. Thank you for supporting safe and respectful transportation in our district!

Sincerely,

Safety

Important Safety Tips for Drivers:

  • Put Your Phone Away: It’s the law in Ohio—driving while distracted by your phone can lead to being stopped by law enforcement. Stay focused on the road.

  • Reduce Your Speed: Be extra cautious during early morning and evening hours when it’s harder to see pedestrians. Slower speeds can prevent accidents.

  • Always Yield to Pedestrians: Whether a crosswalk is marked or not, every intersection is a place where pedestrians have the right of way. Be prepared to stop.

  • Don’t Pass Vehicles at Crosswalks: If a vehicle is stopped at a crosswalk, they may be letting a pedestrian cross. Never pass them.

  • Check for Pedestrians Before Turning: Before you make any turn, look out for people walking, especially in intersections.

Your attention and care can make all the difference. Stay safe and keep others safe!

Sports Recap

London High School Weekly Sports Recap

September 2 – September 6

London High School athletes delivered a week full of exciting performances, strong wins, and record-breaking achievements. From the golf course to the football field, the Red Raiders showed grit, teamwork, and plenty of school pride.

The week opened on Tuesday, September 2, with the golf teams leading the charge. The boys' golf team picked up an impressive road win over Bellefontaine, 160–178, highlighted by medalist rounds of 37 from both Bryson Payne and Jacob Porter. The girls' golf team also earned a narrow victory, edging Kenton Ridge 214–217. In girls' tennis action, London fought hard at home against Jonathan Alder but came up just short in a 3–2 loss. Volleyball teams, however, swept the day on the road at Tecumseh, with varsity, JV, and freshmen squads all winning their matches convincingly.

On Wednesday, September 3, soccer took center stage. The girls' team battled defensively at Bellfontaine but fell 3–0, while the varsity boys' team pulled off a dramatic 1–0 victory thanks to a decisive goal from Brice Tidrick. Girls' tennis also competed away at Thomas Worthington, showing effort and determination despite the loss.

Thursday, September 4, brought mixed results. The JV boys soccer team was blanked 3–0 by Grove City Christian, while the boys golf team tied Kenton Ridge 181–181 in a competitive match. Volleyball continued its winning streak at home, with varsity defeating Urbana three sets to one, and JV and freshmen both sweeping in straight sets.

Friday night featured a dominant performance from varsity football, as London stormed past Franklin Heights with a commanding 56–14 win. The Red Raiders’ offense lit up the scoreboard, giving fans plenty to cheer about under the lights. London Red Raider Football is now a dominant 3-0 to start the season!

Saturday, September 6, wrapped up the week with a flurry of competition. JV boys soccer fell 3–0 at Bexley, and varsity boys soccer also suffered a tough road loss despite battling throughout the match. The JV football team bounced back with a resounding 28–0 shutout win at Franklin Heights. At home, varsity volleyball pushed Fairbanks in a close contest but ultimately came up short.

The highlight of the weekend came on the cross-country course at the Piqua Invitational. The boys team finished 10th out of 28 schools, led by senior Cameron Carn, who placed 2nd overall in a field of 200 runners. Carn broke his own school record with a stunning time of 15:40. On the girls' side, London placed 17th out of 25 teams. Junior Ashley Nolan earned her spot on the school’s all-time 3.1-mile list with a personal record of 20:53, tying for 27th place overall.

Athletes of the Week

  • Cameron Carn (Cross Country): Shattered his own school record with a 15:40 finish and claimed 2nd place out of 200 runners at the Piqua Invitational.

  • Ashley Nolan (Cross Country): Broke into the school’s all-time leaderboard with a PR of 20:53, placing 27th overall.

  • Bryson Payne & Jacob Porter (Boys Golf): Shared medalist honors at Bellefontaine with outstanding rounds of 37.

  • Brice Tidrick (Boys Soccer): Scored the game-winning goal in London’s hard-fought 1–0 victory over Bellfontaine.
