Principal Message

Dear LHS Families,

Thank you for your continued support and engagement in our school community!

Homecoming has concluded successfully, and we appreciate everyone who participated. Please mark your calendars for Picture Day on September 24. Additionally, we will have a 2-Hour Early Release on September 25; the bell schedule is included in this update.

Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for September 25 and October 2. Families of students with a D+ and below have been emailed a link to schedule conferences with their respective teachers. You can also use the Parent Teacher Conference image to arrange your meeting.

If you are a parent drop-off, please help the flow of the line by either dropping students off by the curb or at the circle by the tennis courts.

If you haven't done so, please take a few moments to log into FinalForms and complete or update your student’s information. This process ensures we have accurate emergency contacts, medical details, and activity participation forms on file for the year. We also ask that you take a few minutes to complete our 2025–2026 Planning Survey, which helps us better understand how we can support your student and family throughout the year. Your input is valued and important to our continuous improvement.

Here’s to a great week!

Riding the Bus with Kindness and Respect

At London City Schools, we believe kindness matters everywhere—including on the bus! A safe and positive bus environment makes the ride better for every student.

We encourage all students to:

  • Respect Others – Use polite words and treat bus drivers, staff, and classmates with kindness.

  • Follow the Driver’s Directions – Listening carefully helps keep everyone safe.

  • Look Out for One Another – Offer a seat, lend a hand to younger riders, and show respect.

  • Keep the Bus Clean – Dispose of trash properly and help take care of the bus.

  • Report Concerns – If you see misconduct, let an adult know right away.

By working together, we can make every bus ride a positive experience for all. Thank you for supporting safe and respectful transportation in our district!

Sincerely,
London City Schools Transportation Department

Ensure you are listed as an approved pickup contact for your student.
Be patient as we verify information—safety is our top priority!

Sports Recap

Week of September 8 – September 13
It was a busy week for London High School athletics as the Red Raiders took to the fields, courts, and courses, producing exciting wins and showing determination across all sports.

⛳ Boys Golf
The boys’ golf team celebrated Senior Night in style on Monday with a 169–178 victory over Tecumseh, highlighted by senior Jacob Porter’s medalist round of 38. The Raiders carried that momentum into Wednesday’s match at Urbana, where they edged out the Hillclimbers 183–188 to secure their second win of the week. Congratulations to seniors Thomas Herman and Braeden Fox.

⛳ Girls Golf
The girls’ team also had a strong showing, starting the week with a road victory at Urbana, 200–225. Later in the week, the Lady Raiders celebrated their senior night as they hosted Madison Plains and West Liberty-Salem in a tri-match and came away on top, posting a winning score of 206–266. Congratulations to seniors Hailey Ballah, Jacey Peters, Katelyn Duvall, and Addison Sims.

🎾 Girls Tennis
It was a perfect week for the Lady Raiders to celebrate their senior night by dominating on the tennis courts! They went unbeaten in four matches. London opened with a 3–2 win at Kenton Ridge on Monday, followed by a 4–1 victory at Bellefontaine on Tuesday. They returned home Wednesday for a commanding 5–0 sweep of Bishop Ready, then capped off the week with a hard-fought 3–2 win at Grandview. The JV squad also contributed to the success with a close win over Grandview at home. Congratulations to seniors Sophia Alt and Alaina Tate.

⚽ Boys Soccer
The Red Raiders earned two important victories on the pitch. London defeated Northwestern 3–1 on Monday behind goals from Ty White, Chase Daugherty, and Kyle Bell. On Wednesday, the JV squad battled Bellefontaine to a 0–0 tie, while the varsity boys capped off the week with a 3–2 road win over Chillicothe. Goals in that contest came from Lane Cremeens, Tristian Moran, and Brice Tidrick.

⚽ Girls Soccer
The Lady Raiders fought hard through a challenging week but came up short in all three matches. London fell 4–0 to Northwestern at home on Monday, then dropped a tough road match to Bishop Ready on Wednesday. On Saturday, the girls battled again but ultimately fell at Chillicothe. Despite the results, the team continues to show determination and effort in each match.

🏐 Volleyball
The volleyball teams faced strong competition this week. The JV squad opened with a sweep of Kenton Ridge, while the varsity team nearly forced a fourth set in that same match, dropping a narrow 28–30 second set before falling in three. The varsity Raiders then faced Jonathan Alder on Thursday, where they fell in straight sets, but showed resilience throughout. On Saturday, London hosted a tri-match, losing to Marysville in two sets but bouncing back to sweep River View in two.

🏃‍♀️Cross Country
The London Girls and Boys cross country teams competed over the weekend in the Celtic Class at Dublin Jerome High School. There, they faced strong competition against many central Ohio teams, and they competed very well! Ashley Nolan led the way for the girls' team while Cameron Carn represented London well, finishing in 6th place overall in the varsity boys division.

🏈 Football
Friday night belonged to the football team, as London’s varsity squad rolled to a 44–14 win on the road at Indian Lake. Running back Daquanne Parks led the way with four touchdowns! Quarterback Blake Reay also connected with Kyler Russell for a 20-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. The Red Raiders continue their strong season by improving to 4-0. The JV team continued the momentum on Saturday, earning a decisive 36–6 home victory over Indian Lake.

🌟 Weekly Highlights
Football and golf produced statement wins, girls' tennis stayed perfect on the week, and boys' soccer picked up two key victories. While volleyball and girls' soccer faced tough opponents, both teams displayed heart and resilience. The Red Raiders continue to prove their competitive spirit as the fall season heats up. Senior nights also made for a memorable week in London athletics.
